શ્લોકઃ
जाड्यं धियो हरति सिञ्चति वाचि सत्यम्, मानोन्नतिं दिशति पापमपाकरोति ।
चेतः प्रसादयति दिक्षु तनोति कीर्तिं,सत्संगतिः कथय किं न करोति पुंसाम् ।
સમાસ વિભાજન અને શબ્દશ: ગુજરાતી અર્થઃ
जाड्यं=જડતા, धियो=બુદ્ધિ, हरति= લઈ લે છે.
सिञ्चति=સીંચન કરે છે. वाचि=વાણીમાં, सत्यम्=સત્ય,
मानोन्नतिं= मान+उन्नतिम,
मान=સન્માન, उन्नतिम=ઊંચે લઈ જવું.
दिशति= વધારે છે.
पापमपाकरोति= पापम्+अपा+करोति
पापम्=પાપોને,+अपा=દૂર, करोति=કરે છે.
चेतः=ચિત્તમાં, प्रसादयति=પ્રસન્ન કરે છે,
दिक्षु=દિશાઓમાં, तनोति=ફેલાવે છે. कीर्तिं=કીર્તિ,
सत्संगतिः=સારા સંગ થકી, कथय=કહો,
किं=શું, न करोति=નથી કરતી? पुंसाम्=માનવીમાં ।
શ્લોકનું ગુજરાતી ભાષાંતરઃ
સત્સંગ બુદ્ધિની જડતાને હરી લે છે,વાણીમાં સત્ય સીંચે છે,સન્માન વધારે છે,પાપોને દૂર કરે છે. ચિત્તને પ્રસન્ન કરે છે અને દશે દિશાઓમાં કીર્તિ ફેલાવે છે. કહો,સત્સંગતિ માનવી માટે શું નથી કરતી?
વિચારવિસ્તારઃ
સારી સોબત રાખવાથી કેટલું સારું થાય છે તે અહીં ભારપૂર્વક વિસ્તારથી સમજાવ્યું છે. માણસ ઘણી રીતે બદલાઈ જાય છે, સુધરી જાય છે અને વિકાસ પામે છે. તેથી જ કહેવામાં આવે છે ને કે, ક્યાં રહો છો તેના કરતાં કોના સંગમાં રહો છો તે અગત્યનું છે. વિચાર, વાણી અને આચારમાં સારો બદલાવ આવવાથી સન્માન વધે છે,પાપો દૂર થાય છે અને સર્વત્ર યશ મળે છે. તેથી સારો સંગ કરવો તેનો મહિમા અહીં દર્શાવ્યો છે.

Word to word meaning in English-
Jadyam= dullness, inactivity, dhiyo= understanding, mind
harati= to take away, sinchati= to sprinkle, to infuse
vaachi=in language, satyam= truth , maanonnatim=maan+Unnati.
Maan=respect, Unnati= elevation, rise, dishati= to bestow upon, paapamapaakaroti=paapam+apaa=karoti – paap= sin, vicious, apaa= to remove, karoti= doing=removing
chetas= mind, prasaadayati= to calm down, to compose dikshu= direction , tanoti= spreading, kirti= fame, glory, reputation
satsangati= virtuous person’s company kathay= tell me, kim= what, na- not , karoti= doing, punsaam= to human being.
Translation in English-
It removes the dullness of the mind, instills truth in speech. It gives him honor and progress, deters him from doing sinful deeds. it purifies the intellect. calms the mind and spreads fame in all directions. tell me what does the company of the virtuous person not do for human beings?
